Close to 15000 volunteers, including residents, students and employees of various corporates came together at Mahindra World City (MWC), Chennai over the past week to plant 1.5 lakh saplings and enhance the City’s green cover via an urban forest! Shri Thiru P. Ponniah, Collector, Kancheepuram, was the chief guest at the green drive at MWC Chennai on Sunday. The saplings were planted on 140 acres across MWC Chennai and will be tended to while they grow into trees. Such plantation drives not only help reduce carbon footprint, but also bolster local biodiversity. The initiative, in partnership with The Times Of India and Hero MotoCorp, is an important milestone in our Company’s mission of Transforming Urban Landscapes By Creating Sustainable Communities that are environmentally responsive and resilient.
