A home in the winter capital of Maharashtra

Nagpur is the third-largest city in Maharashtra. Nagpur has also been proposed as one of the Smart Cities in Maharashtra. In addition, the city is a prominent commercial and political centre of the Vidarbha region of the state.

A relatively peaceful city, Nagpur has emerged as a real estate destination for several reasons:

1. Well-developed social amenities:

Nagpur residents lead an easy-paced life. For sporting enthusiast, the city is a home to several sports clubs. Nagpur is acknowledged as a city with rich cultural heritage and is also home to several leading movie theatres as Inox Cinemas, Jaswant Cinema and Liberty Cinema, among others. Marathi traditions and culture enjoy immense popularity here and festivals such as Gudi Padva, Dussehra, Diwali, etc. are celebrated with much enthusiasm and fanfare.

2. Education:

Nagpur is a major education hub in Central India. The schools are governed by four boards – Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and The International Baccalaureate (IB). The city is home to reputed business schools and engineering colleges including the Indian Institute of Management, Institute of Management Technology, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, respectively and the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (the only NIT in Maharashtra). Nagpur boasts a high literacy rate of 92.38%.

3. Good connectivity:

Nagpur is well-connected. A total of 260 trains stop at Nagpur, which will soon have its own metro rail (currently in fast-track mode). Two of India’s major national highways -Kanyakumari-Varanasi (National Highway 7) and Hajira-Kolkata (National Highway 6) – pass via Nagpur. Nagpur is located at the junction of two Asian Highways namely AH43 Agra to Matara, Sri Lanka and AH46 connecting Kharagpur to Dhule. The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport will soon undergo expansion to cater to increasing demand.

4. Real Estate:

In the last few years, the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) has contributed to the acceleration of he economic, real estate , and environmental development of the city. Nagpur is considered as a key industrial and services growth centre in India, having witnessed considerable development in sectors such as education and healthcare. This in turn has growing prices of property in Nagpur.
