SUSTAINABLE URBANISATION

GREEN ARCHITECTURE

We have partnered with the Indian Green Building Council to create certified green buildings and communities. We have set targets to reduce emissions, eradicate waste and optimize consumption of natural resources through efficient use of water and energy and better management of our supply chain. Our efforts on sustainability have been recognised and we have been ranked ‘28th amongst Top 100 companies in Asia’ in the ‘2016 Channel News Asia Sustainability Ranking’. Mahindra World City, Jaipur became the first project in Asia to receive ‘Stage 2 Climate Positive Development’ certification from the ‘C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group’. The project was recognized for its climate positive roadmap detailing its plans and commitments to achieve net negative carbon emissions outcome.

We have also launched a unique initiative named ‘Green Army’ to increase awareness about sustainable living habits among children. Our Company won the ‘Investor Relations Society Awards 2015’ for ‘Best Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Disclosures in Small Cap category’. One of our projects ‘Luminare’ was conferred with the ‘CIDC Vishwakarma Award for Construction, Health, Safety and Environment’.

Our Green Initiatives:

  • Top soil preservation Improvement of ventilation effectiveness by providing more open window space to floor space ratio
  • Use of low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) paints, adhesives and insulations inside the units to maintain better indoor air quality
  • Specifically designed terrace roof sections with high albedo material or reflective paint to reduce heat absorption and the resultant energy demands for air-conditioning
  • High energy efficient low emissivity glass in fenestration which will have low solar heat gain co-efficient with low U value. That induces more daylight effect than normal glass, due to which the energy requirement for indoor air-conditioning is substantially reduced
  • Fly ash bricks of low energy density for external walls
  • Installation of high water efficient fixtures with aerators in apartments to minimize wastage and reduce water demand
  • Development of an innovative erosion and sedimentation control management system outside the building, with a rainwater harvesting system and storm water management to recharge the ground water
